Step-by-Step Instructions

Open Journal Entries

Go to Accounting & Finance > Journal Entries.

Create Journal Voucher

Click 'New Entry', specify Posting Date, Reference Number, and Transaction Description.

Add Debit & Credit Line Items

Select GL accounts and input corresponding debit and credit amounts.

Post Entry

Verify that Total Debits equal Total Credits and click 'Post Journal Entry'.

Important Business Rules & Invariants

Double-Entry Balance Constraint: The system permanently blocks posting any journal voucher where Total Debits ≠ Total Credits.

Common Questions & Troubleshooting

No, posted entries are immutable. To correct an error, create a reversing journal voucher with reference to the original entry.
